New President for Ghana Missionary Training Center

News Release

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced Rex Jay Allen and Nancy Ann Newey Allen from Midway, Utah will assume leadership of the Ghana Missionary Training Center on January 17, 2017.

    

President Allen said, “We will not have any trouble loving the young people we work with. Our previous experience in West Africa has shown us these young men and women know how to depend on God. We want to help them as they step into their missionary calling, to help them realize who they are and help them teach with the Spirit.”

President and Sister Allen will succeed President Scott M. Brubaker and Sister Rebecca Brubaker in the leadership role of the MTC.

Brother Allen currently serves as a stake presidency counselor and recently returned from a mission in Beirut, Lebanon. He is a former president of the Switzerland Geneva Mission, bishop, high councilor, and missionary in the France Switzerland Mission. He was born in Salt Lake City to Wallace Fred Allen and Alice Louise Simmonds Allen.

Sister Allen previously served with her husband in the Switzerland Geneva Mission and in Beirut, Lebanon. She is a former Primary general board member, stake Primary president, ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women leader, and institute teacher. Born in Ogden, Utah, to Robert LeRoy Newey and Kathleen Grant Newey.

Brother Rex Allen is a pioneer in learning technology, as well as an instructional designer, executive, entrepreneur. For the last 30 years, he has helped thousands of individuals and hundreds of organizations worldwide to change, to learn better and faster, to be happier, and to work more productively.

He was founder and President of Allen Communication, Inc., for several years, and co-founder of Realtime Learning Systems. He received his Ph.D. from Florida State University in Organizational Communication and Instructional Systems and was recognized as their College of Communication Alumnus of the Year.
