The annual program, which was instituted in 2006, offers Church members the opportunity to serve their community in a variety of ways. .
Responding to needs in the communities, local Church leaders partnered with State institutions such as the Blood Bank, Prisons Service, Municipal and District Assemblies, as well as others, to ensure the projects fulfilled the needed results.
Below are the various projects engaged in during the service project.
Ashaiman Stake
  Leaders of the Ashaiman stake partnered with the Tema Municipal Assembly to give a facelift to one of the community’s public basic schools. Activities included painting of offices and classroom blocks, weeding and donation of cleaning tools such as machetes, brooms and paint rollers. Also, a partnership was secured between leaders of the Church and Crystal Clinic to provide free health screening for members within the community.  According to the church leaders, the project was aimed at emulating the teachings of Jesus Christ regarding service, charity and sacrifice. |
Bantam Stake
Bantama Stake collaborated with institutions such as the Ghana Police Service, ZoomLion Ghana and Suntreso Hospital in the Ashanti region to spearhead a blood donation and community clean-up project. The program began at 7:00 am with impressive participation of members of the Church, as well as their friends from the area. .
The clean-up exercise took place at the Sofoline Interchange and its environs. The blood donations occurred at the local church meeting house.
Bright Twumasi, Second Counselor in Abuakwa Bishopric, expressed "It is a humbling opportunity to know the blood which I donate, will in turn save a life in the future."
The staff of Suntreso Hospital also commended blood donors for their participation.
Asokwa Stake
Over 350 members and non-members in the Asokwa Stake dedicated 12 hours of their day to render services to their communities. The projects included, cleanup at Ejisu market, Chief's Palace, SOS village and the Kumasi South Hospital. Others also engaged in filling roadway potholes at Domeabra in the Nkoranza North District.
Yamoransa
In Yamoransa stake, 557 members and non-members dedicated 56 hours of time for the selected 14 projects within the Mfantseman municipality.
The projects included the cleaning of markets, hospitals and de-silting of gutters, and was aimed at reducing the increasing health related cases in the municipality.
Nana Poma Kuadua XVIII, Chief of Aketekyewa said “I have always appreciated the Church and all you do. However, this service project stands out, as one of the best."
Miss Cecelia, Health Assistant for Otuam Health Center said, “We are grateful for your hard work and example and hope that other organisations can learn from this great work”.
Mpintsin Stake
About 650 members dedicated 12 hours to three different projects selected by the leadership of the Church. The projects took place at Ahmadiya Muslim Mission Hospital, Shama Government Hospital and the town of Aboadze, all located in the Western Region.
Assembly Member for Aboadze said, “I am extremely happy about the execution of the project work. You people have done a good service here today. I say a big thank you, to all your members who participated in the work”..
Medical officers at the hospitals, also expressed gratitude to volunteers for the exercise.
